Small piece, not sure what it is from lower unit

Just wondering if anyone knows what this is? I think it might have fallen out of the lower unit while I was inspecting the oil seals... I think it may have come out from where the shift rod goes?

I put a nickel beside it for size reference.

BTW this is for a 30 HP yamaha 2 stroke 97

NM I figured it out, was the water pump impellor key.

The problem was, that was a Canadian nickel and threw everyone off. You would have discovered where the key went soon enough.
