Re: Smart Tabs mounting location
Ok, first off, the 10 inches they are talking about I am pretty sure is for actuator mounting/ travel. The tabs stick down while at rest and are compressed even with the hull when underway or on plane. What is the length of the blue arrow above. Basically from the center of where the tab would be side to side and at a 90 degree angle from the center of the tab upward to the bottom of the platform? The actuator will be mounted on the same angle as the tab is running, so that measurement should be measured on the angle to see if there is enough room.
I know the composite ones have a little bit different setup, you might ask about the stainless because the actuator mounts on the tabs can be adjusted/drilled towards the outer edge. Not sure if it will help or not.
Anyway, I think they would work in either location #1 or #2, but it would be better if they would work in option #1 because then you will have better side to side stability while underway.
