Hi Gang,

Just curious if I should go with the SX9510-60 or SX9510-80 smart tabs? Is the difference the pressure applied from the hydraulic shock? I think with my set-up I should go with the SX9510-80?

http://www.iboats.com/SX_Smart_Tabs...6852094--**********.135688933--view_id.352487

Not sure which ones to select?

Does anyone have good experience with these on similar set-ups to mine?

Thanks in advance!

My boat info is below...

Re: Smart tabs

tha 60' are for the lighter 4.3 and 3.0 engines, the 80's are for the heavier V8 blocks. also iboats has a $99.00 special, on blemished Smart Tabs, full warranty, just an slight imperfection in the casting.

Re: Smart tabs

Thank you sir!

I was kinda confused at the data they had listed...

16', 17', 18'+ 4/6 cyl I/O 2 Stroke SX9510-60

Aren't most I/O's 4 stroke? Never heard of a 2 stroke I/O

Blemished special sound like the way to go!

Re: Smart tabs

Bear;

Do not use the 80s unless you have a V8 or Outboard 150 four stroke or larger.

If your boat is the 3.0 use the SX9510-60.

Re: Smart tabs

Gang,

I ordered the SX9510-60's for $99

I can't wait to feel the difference in how the boat handles...

Thanks again!

Re: Smart tabs

Too bad the stainless ones aren't on sale (although $10 cheaper than last season).

Do the stainless tabs perform differently? They appear wider? I can't find the dimensions of the cast black ones?

Re: Smart tabs

It's just that I'm in brackish water, the aluminum would suffer prematurely from electrolysis. I expect another 20 years of service from my '69 'Ray.

Re: Smart tabs

Bear;

Performance is a function of appropriate size and actuator pressure. The SX series are 9.5" wide by 10" Long (ie: SX 9510) the last two numbers indicate the actuator pressure.

You will be fine!

Re: Smart tabs

Thanks dudes!

I know it's crazy, but I went for the stainless ones... I think they will look killer with my stainless prop... I've changes all the trim, through hulls, bilge vents to chrome and stainless... I like the look against the white hull

Only as few more months till I can hit the H2O!

Re: Smart tabs

So what would I do for a 23' 260hp boat? Doesnt look like there are smart tabs for that size boat and engine....would the 80's work? According to the specs, the 80's are for up to 22' and 240hp.

I've seen larger tabs, but they are for waaaayyyyy bigger boats. Seems like there is a gap in the 23-26 ft boat range. Any help would be appreciated.....

Super Daddy;

It's good to see someone proud to be a Dad.

My guess is that your boat weight is under 4000 Lbs, and the swim platform is included in the official boat length. Therefore, Use the ST1290-80. If you have any other questions please call us at 800-233-0194.

Re: Smart tabs

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys.

I think I'd like to give the 80's a try for a couple of reasons. First, the 120's might be overkill. The dry weight of my boat is listed as 3900lbs, as Jdeagro thought. And secondly, the 80's are a third of the cost of the 120's. I'll give the 80's a try and see how they feel. If they aren't enough, I'll bump up to the 120's.

Again, thanks for the help. And yes, I am proud to be a dad!
