Re: So I want to buy my first boat but....
So, this thread started almost a year ago and I finally bought a boat!! It's a 1986 Four Winns Horizon 190 with a OMC 4.3 with the cobra outdrive! Has only 300 hours on it and a tandem axle trailer under it!! Took it home yesterday for my birthday!! The Runner handled it okay, acceleration onto the freeway was lacking, but I cruised at about 68-70mph no problem. Stopping was okay, but I noticed the boat and trailer seemed to push me a bit. The trailer does have surge brakes but it didn't seem like they were really working too well. So today I was going over everything checking stuff out, and I found the brake reservoir on the trailer tounge to be empty, as in no fliud... I believe I am checking in the correct place, it's a little rubber stopper with a threaded handle, almost looks like a rubber cork (anyone know where I can get a new one?)... This is where I would put the fluid in right? I don't see anywhere else that I could.. Checked my trailer lights and noticed my left tail lamp running light wasn't working along with none of the smaller running lights.. The little running lights are all sealed and riveted to the trailer frame... any easy way to replace these little buggers? The left tail lamp is a 6" oval sealed unit, the bulb inside the lamp looks good but I can't really take it out to verify... Should I just buy a new left oval brake lamp? Anyways, I'm sooo excited just gotta get this thing ready to roll to the lake, summer is coming soon!!
Thanks everyone!!
