2 questions

- where would be places to check for exhaust leak ?

- i'm still thinking of doing the recirc dog bones but gaskets are not fully in stock - do you think clear fuel line in the recirculation would be a good test to see if she is passing fuel in that system ?

There are three major places to locate exhaust leaks inside the engine cowling. The exhaust plate, obviously. Next will be the exhaust relief boot which is located just behind the motor leg (it connects to the two nostrils) and lastly the most complicated one will be the exhaust trunk that connects the base of the power head to the motor leg. There are two gaskets with a spacer to prevent exhaust gas leaking into the cowl.
