Re: So much for free speech!!!!

Free speech is not the correct term to be used in or on a PRIVATELY OWNED Forum..............I knew that going in.

Yes, I know that as well, but it is amazing the amount of crap that gets posted around here that no one ever questions is amazing. Don't ever question someone's motives or truthfulness around here or you will be bannished! I am expecting it soon!

iboats' forum. iboat's rules.

This is the most helpful forum I've ever seen. Problems get solved here every day. The trouble with individual cases is that we never see both sides. Only the one with an ax to grind gets to make a case.

That's why there's a no bashing rule.

There are two sides to every story.

Well said CATransplant

I'm new to these forums but love them and find them extremely useful and helpful.

We don't know all sides so we should stick to the "innocent until proven guilty"

It was not my intent to bash Riv................only to question his intentions and actions. It appears I crossed the line:confused::confused: for that I apologize.

Huh? I wasn't speaking about you at all. I assumed that this was a general deal having to do with a couple of long threads about one company or another. As fellow Rear Admirals, I suggest we retire to the Admiralty Lounge and down a couple of cool ones. :D

No, I don't think it's at all like that. As I said, when only one side of a beef is presented, it's always difficult to judge a situation. That's why iboats doesn't allow bashing of companies, since the company can't really come in an defend itself. It's a good rule, since people with a beef about something can say whatever they wish without any response from the other side.

Threads like those always end up being acrimonious, and that's not the style here at iboats.

Doesn't allow bashing of companies, did you read the thread about Donzi at all? I don't disagree with any of the rules, only the lousy interpretation of them!

Re: So much for free speech!!!!

i have no idea of the specifics of the negotiations between the individual, and the company he had a beef with. all i know is he is happy, and requested they be deleted. as we would honor your request. i will say iboats had nothing to do with it. He's happy, now be happy with and for him!!!!

Re: So much for free speech!!!!

FWIW, I had an issue with a Vendor and posted such. One of theirs did respond, and posted updates. Worked for me, and hopefully worked for others watching. If someone else, with a different Vendor, opted to make a different choice...its their choice. My thread hasn't been deleted, so IMO, that says something for iBoats that doesn't seem to be coming across in this thread...but perhaps I've no idea what's being talked about.

Re: So much for free speech!!!!

It's quite possible that as part of the settlement agreement Riv agreed to delete the threads and post what he did. If so, that says alot about the reach of iboats.

Regardless, while you don't have to like it, everything was done within the rules set forth by iboats. And even if it wasn't, they can break their own rules whenever they want.

Besides, it doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Almost no one who read the final post didn't read the "whole" story, and since it's locked, not many more people will read it anyway.

Maybe one of the Mods will sticky it up top for a bit so those who participated in, and followed the saga can read Rivs post regarding the resolution.
