It was not my intent to bash Riv................only to question his intentions and actions. It appears I crossed the line:confused::confused: for that I apologize.

No, I don't think it's at all like that. As I said, when only one side of a beef is presented, it's always difficult to judge a situation. That's why iboats doesn't allow bashing of companies, since the company can't really come in an defend itself. It's a good rule, since people with a beef about something can say whatever they wish without any response from the other side.

Threads like those always end up being acrimonious, and that's not the style here at iboats.
CAT, The company was following the post on a daily basis. Was told this by a company official. If they wanted to they could have responded (and were invited) to do so. That is also one of the reasons that e-mails were posted.

Iboats isn't a country.. it's a private bbs we're all allowed to use by the owners, who pay for bandwidth and servers.

You can either accept that it's not totally free, that you have only the rights here that you are given by them, or not. It's up to you.

For me, the benefit of this board outweighs the fact that I would strongly prefer this sort of community to be moderated in a more democratic fashion, and that the users be given more rights.

But, in the end it's just an online retailer providing a free service to people who may or may not actually patronize their store. Personally, I think them giving us something for free is a good reason to repay the favor and buy something from them. I also accept the free stuff :)

But even if you do, you don't have rights here. None of us do. Live with it or not, your choice.

I am so hooked on this place because I just can't stop laughing at comments like the above! I sure hope that Iboats doesn't change the rules to make everyone jump off the Brooklyn Bridge when they sign up for this place...
