First of all, thank you for reminding me! Lol ive got four days off (sun-wed) and hopefully if the weather cooperates, will be out on the river a couple of the days, but not the 4th for the same reason others have mentioned...don't need some drunk/amature fool smashing my boat up..

Sorry Ken. When I was at your place recently for the most recent Ken's Away party, I borrowed a few boat parts. I had hoped to get them back to you this weekend at the trailer, but as we're heading for Muskoka for the weekend I'll have to do it later in July. Nothing you'll miss right away but bring your paddles and lifejackets.

Ha! Lucky you who have operable boats! Mine is down for new bellows and shift cable now...and I ain't doing it in this heat! And to make matters even more gloomy, we here in Indiana have had virtually all municipal fireworks displays canceled due to fire danger from our shriveled up vegetagion. So why don't you guys and gals pray for a heavy down pour on central Indiana for the next few days, so we can have a proper celebration. :(

OK, I hope it rains where you are and not here :D
Fireworks on barges on a lake or river would work. Did in Detroit / Windsor last Monday and does each year.

We are taking the boat down river to Bay City for the big fireworks on sat. night. They have a 3 day festival there and sat. is the final one. This year is the 50th anniversary of the festival so they are advertising 50,000 shots in 50 min. We have friends that are going early and will be in the park just down the shore from where they will be going off. Should be fun.

They have let much of the water out of our Lake--again. The Lake is not prepared for our usual Hot/ dry summer. A lot of boat ramps will be closing soon. Still we have enough for the 4th. I am hoping the temps come down from the triple digits before then or the Admiral will be non to happy baking in the Sun and that means I won't be happy. We both have to work Thursday. This 4th is going to be a stinker
