THere are way to many "free range" dogs and cats and because they are "free range" what ever happens to them.... happens. No one should be responsible for an injured animal other than the owner of the injured animal regardless of where the injury occurs if both the injured animal and animal inflicting the injury are "free range" animals. Dogs and cats will always be just that.....they will do what dogs and cats do.

This sounds like a politicians response. Someone like Bob Koker

I agree with Ezmobee.

Have anybody ever saw a dog that chased down a cat and kill it? forget about it.

I saw my black lab bird dog in good shape hit a feral cat at full gallop one time. It went about 9 feet in the air and came down dead. She did it to a skunk, too.............once.

Dogs run in packs- really? They were 3 pit bull looking dogs that seemed nice unless we got too close to them or their food. My 2 & 3 year olds are pretty good around dogs so I figured they can hold their own.

I can promise you I'm no politician. I've just been involved in pet incidents and all of them involved pets that are not behind fences even when there is a leash law. In my opnion pets that are free ranging regardless of whose yard they're in if one of them gets beat up or hurt its the owner of the hurt pet responsibility to get it to the vet. I feel the same about pets that are hit by cars. Its not the car owners responsibility to pay for any vet bills its the pet owners resonsibility.

All I can say is, it is quite alright for most to lay their responsibility at someone elses door step, society makes such allowances for it's morons, degenerates and the like.
We only seem to get PO'ed when we are asked to pay for their transgressions.

This was a hypothetical question. If you only want to speak about things that actually happened, then ignore the post.

I figure that if a loose animal gets hits by a car because it's running around, it's not that drivers fault. In Fontana, CA, if a bus driver hits a dog with tags they get dinged with having an "accident", but if the dog doesn't have tags then there's no problem. We were out walking our dogs (65-70lbs each) and some little piece of ---- chihuahua ran out of its house and tried to bite my dogs ankles while we were on the sidewalk. Mine didn't do anything other than put their paw on it and probably laugh in their head. But, you know if my dogs hurt the fake dog then the owner would have gotten pissed at us.

I also agree that dogs chase cats & cats chase birds & ---- in my garden- it's just what animals do. Does that make it ok when I just sit around on Sundays and watch football all day (that's what dads/husbands do)?
