If Cheney is so smart why was he supporting Iraq and Saddam earlier when we needed Saddam to help against Iran. Why did this group of smart people train and supply weapons and technology to Iraq in the 80's. Most of the generals we are now fighting were trained by US military.<br /><br />That doesn't seem very smart to me.

We also teamed up with Stalin in WWII. Who knows what the alternative history would be. Had we not helped the Afghan rebels against the USSR, maybe the USSR would still be breathing down our necks. WRT Iraq, maybe Iran would now be the superhostile we'd be dealing with. Let's concentrate on the task at hand boys.

wvit100,Adolph Hitler was also Times "man of the year" in the thirties.Were all of those administrators stupid too?Fact is ,our countries leaders are not hired as soothsayers.You have to wait until someone does something wrong before it can be addressed.Would you also hold Jeffery Dahmers parents liable for his actions because they fed him until he was twenty?People who are not actors need to think before they speak.
