Solas prop on Volvo Penta sterndrive.

Hello

I am new to iboats so go easy.

I have recently purchased a solas Amita 3 blade 15x15 part number 8712-150-15. It fits on fine but my question is should i be still using the plastic washer, propeller cone a allen cap screw to secure ? or should i be using a retro fit nut and tab washer ?

Hopefully someone is familiar with volvo pentas.

The sterndrive i have is a short hub Aquamatic 290 single prop, 17 spline.
I have currently fitted the Solas prop with the above cone and cap screw and ran the boat but was wondering if it was the done thing securing this way.

Any help would be much appreciated and thanks in advance.

I have a VP Aquamatic 275 w/225hp (short shaft) and use a Solas Amita 4 blade (14x21) prop. I used the original plastic washer, cone and locking bolt. Haven't had any prop issues and been out with it a few times. When I put the lock bolt in, I put a dab of Locktite on the treads just for added safety.
