No kidding!
That pucker meter doesn't work any more for sure, bet the needle is welded to the start pin!
That did look suspiciously unexpected, but the plane must have been clear by a good 6 or 7 feet off the deck still, as I think the prop on the Spit hangs out the bottom by at least 5 feet.
Doesn't go for the tail keel though, I would have liked to have seen that up close.
Bet there was critters hanging on!
That would have been tragic if the plane had to hit.
