Somebody 'splain this boats controls to me.

I was oogling this thing today (1948 Chris Craft Sportsman Sedan) and started wondering what that knob was in the center of the dash was for. And what are each of the two levers on the steering wheel for? I'm assuming throttle and/shift?

Spot light control is my guess for the one in the center.

The center one on the wheel is definitely throttle. I have one for my Chris Replica project . . . but I don't have the wheel, so I will probably sell it. I also have a floor shifter, and it looks kinda like the other wheel mounted lever. I am not sure about the one on the dash . . . Mixture like a plane?

What a sweet ride though. Now I'm gonna have to make mine into a hard top!!!! Damn it!!!!

Edit: Yup, spotlight. That makes sense. Oh, and rent On Golden Pond. The kid gets messed up using the thumb throttle . . . That's how he crashes her

Haven't a clue, but that is one sweet ride. I bet the lever in the middle of the dash operates the MIL ejector seat.

center of wheel is throttle, lever of column, is the shift. dash knob is spot light, you turn it for side to side, push in for the light to shine higher, pull out for light to shine lower. i want it.

Spotlight huh? How cool! I've seen that on alot of CCs and wondered what it could be. Thanks for the info. And yeah, that IS a sweet ride.
