I just got my son into wakeboarding, we went out one time so far & the boat (17' bowrider w/ 85hp O/B), pulled him just fine. My question is: I do not have power tilt/trim, all I have are 4 holes with a rod to adjust the trim manually. When we were done for the day & pulled the boat out of the water I noticed the rod was in the highest position. What are the lowest to highest positions best used for? Lowest for better hole shot, highest position better for top speed? Am I correct in this assumption? Or do I have it backwards? I never really played around with it before so I just don't know. Thanks

You are mostly right in your assumption. The lowest setting may be too low and the highest too high. You have the direction right for adjustment but you will have to experiment to find the ideal setting for a specific condition.

Yup, now take an hour or two and go out and play with different positions and see which you like best. Any single position will be a compromise, but you may find one better than another. Think of it like this: "Honey, I know the lawn needs to be mowed, but I HAVE to go do some more testing on the boat" :D

Ha! Ya thanks, I've been using that one (Honey, I think I found the leak, I just need to run up to the lake to see for sure), for about 2 weeks now. Ya, I'll have to try the other positions out today. I told my son to only ask 1 other buddy next time, I really didn't like the extra weight & the 2 guy's with us kept sitting in the back of the boat so they could watch the other on the board, even after asking & then telling them that one guy had to sit in the bow to even it out a little. We should have a much better time today. Thanks for the advice.
