This is an interesting bit of information:

a.. Enron's Chairman did meet with the President and the Vice President in the Oval Office.

b.. Enron gave $420,000 to the President's Party over three years.

c.. Enron donated $100,000 to the President's Inauguration Festivities.

d.. The Enron Chairman stayed at the White House 11 times.

e.. The Enron Corporation had access to the Administration at its highest levels and even enlisted the Commerce and State Departments to grease deals for it.

f.. The taxpayer-supported Export-Import Bank subsidized Enron for more than $600 million in just one transaction. Scandalous!!

g.. BUT...the President under whom all this happened was NOT George W. Bush.

It was Bill Clinton.

Excuse me.. Let's get one thing straight..

Enron has made very large and near equil contributions to BOTH the democratic and republican parties.. It has nothing to do with politics, all those donations are about $buying$ influence with the politicians to make things good for Enron... Example: "support this issue, and we'll give the (enter democratic or republican party here) a signifigant contribution".. That's how it works....

Enron was being solicited for donations by the republican party while the government was investigating them... Does that strike you as a little funny?

Do you not think this sort of thing goes on with the current administration or with the higher up's in the republican and democratic parties?.. If you all don't think so, then I wonder if I could intereset you in a few bridges for sale...

And all of Enron's overtures did not help them one bit,did it? It is called "integrity". I know there it's a new concept after 8 years of Clinton, but it's actually a good thing.

"integrity"
Quite frankly, neither party knows the meaning of that word... Both parties would sell their mother for half a buck, if they thought they could..

I would'nt go spouting off that word too awful much, especially with reguards to the current administration.. Might just end up eating your "integrity" later.. ;)

True enough. I wont spout anything off, much less, virtues. I'm not qualified. But I do know the difference, and it is indeed called "integrity". We have recorded evidence now, that this man cannot be purchased, like mr Clinton was. How long has Enron been cooking the books before the election? How soon after the election did Enron switch endorsement?
You can say Bush will say or do anything to hold the seat, and you can say Kerry will do anything to get it. But you can't buy integrity. you earn that.

Snapperbait, that is a very negative and condescending view. ;)
But say it loud and often.
:)

Re: Something you wont see reported

It's about the lesser of two evils. One is clearly more evil to my wallet, the dems. Sure, I care about the lives of unborn children, the purity and cleanlyness of the air and water. I care about the oceans fisheries, as well as those near me. I care the humane treatment of all animals, pets, livestock,, et al. I care about my own liberty and freedom. I care about isssues on both sides of the political fence, but one party wants to rob me blind and take my freedom, the other wants to do ........well, at the moment I don't know what. But the people of this country will vote themselves a raise every chance they get. Those who pay taxes generally vote republican, those who do not pay taxes and get a nice fat bonus in the form of Earned Income Credit vote the other way generally. Meanwhile both parties are swimming the same filthy toilet, all bought and sold by the same special interests with the money to spend. This country....still the best, but for how long?

Fwiw, Larry Clayman (Judicial Watch) has a lawsuit filed against V.P. Cheney over ethics stuff. So??? …So Clayman/JW doesn’t lose lawsuits. The D.C. Federal Appeals Court has already ruled against Cheney. It’s now before the Supreme Court…next week. JW takes them all on, left or right, doesn't matter. They don't take on the courts!...you can't.

You can get an idea of the level of government corruption just by scanning down the page here:

http://www.judicialwatch.org/

None of it is as corrupt as the courts. It is absolutely astounding what Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia recently did…with IMPUNITY!!! His action at that event should be enough to have him immediately removed from the Court, but that would require a vote of the Senate…

What Soulwinner said... But of all the evils he addressed, there is the big evil that he failed to mention, and it's not his fault that he failed to mention it.
There is a concerted effort by the partison media to cover up all mention of 9/11/01, and every other attack on the United States, while singing the attrocities of "what we are doing to the people of Iraq", or some other anti-admin bull.
It just gets old. And for those of you who actually hate the incumants this much, just know these little head games won't werk the same as they did 20years ago. the average American is pretty much dumbed-down. But there are still enough of them around who "won't be foolerd again". We are at war. To hand this country over to a commander who would give our forces to the same clan that concieved "Food For Oil", is inconceivable!
And those of you who do not think there is an effort to brainwash you into voting for a traitor, try to remember the following , the next time you listen or watch a news report on TV or radio from the partison media( you'll then be as convinced as I am of thier sinister efforts..
The next time they mention "Haliburton", listewn carefully to the words they place around it.
Most of the reports will do this in the same sentence!! They'll invoke the name of VP Cheney somehow, by calling it "Formerly run by Richard Cheny", or "VP Cheney's former employer, Haliburton"----- They NEVER miss an opertunity to do this! And it is asinine-crazy and totally irrelevant. But if you let them, you'll walk-away from the news report thinking "Haliburton is evil, Cheney has them in his back pocket, and he is evil...And he wants to make an American-only version of the 'food for oil' program to line his pockets!"

Some of you have even read such retoric right here! But please, people---think for yourselves, and start today.
Don't let them fool you again!

Good post 12footer.
I have another hobby, astronomy, and I have spent some time on a political forum on a popular artronomy web site. The sight is dominated by liberals, but I try to learn something from all and occasionally sharpen my debate skills. I soon came to realize that most are not interested in true debate, that is the statement of facts, their sources and how they are logically related. Most are interested in ranting hatred for GWB. Even when I asked how they would change the current situation, I got no real answers, just more expressed hatred of GW.
