hi, i have a lowrance hds-5 in my boat. im still rebuilding the boat and dont have all of the electrical done yet. so temporarily i have it wired directly to the battery(with fuse). like most units, you have to hold the power button for a couple seconds to turn on and off. one of the first times i used it, i parked the boat and the next day found the unit on. thought maybe the screen cover turned it on. but, it happened a second time with the screen cover off. this time, i was away for a week and a half and came back to find the battery dead. so, is there an explanation for this? any ideas? now, i take the fuse out after each use as a precaution but its a PIA. thanks, mark
