Just wondering what is normal. '88 Renken Classic 2000, 4.3L.
I hear the gears briefly, going into both Fwd and Rev. It pulls/pushes back into N easily.
I'm not aware of that on the water, but of course, it's submerged, and I also read here that the ESA shouldn't operate on muffs (which, I didn't detect any rpm change during the shift; they were down a little once in gear however - 500 or so vs a 600-ish idle in N; wasn't really warmed all the way up though).
I'd like to start the boat at least every week or two if not going out with it, and my book (Clymer) says it shouldn't idle too long w/o being put into gear (a lube issue or something).
Don't want to be grinding unnecessarily though...
