I bought an old bass boat with a 1975 hp Johnson which runs like a bat out of hell. Problem is, it does not have power tilt or trim, and the flip-down trailering bracket is missing.
Can anyone confirm which of the optional power tilt units from the mid to late 1970's will fit this model ? I have found a couple of used ones from the late 1970's, but not 1975. Also, anyone know whether a unit from a big 3 cylinder, like a 70 hp, will work with my V-4 ?
Last, anyone know where I could find a replacement trailering bracket ? I use a transome saver when towing it, but when I put it in the water I prop the motor up with a piece of 2x4. I am getting too old to be tilting this thing forward by hand and at the same time kicking the block of wood out of the way !
