I found sort of by accident that the spark lever screw was loose as I could move the plastic plate underneath with the ridges on it. 1999 Johnson 150 J150PXEES
Looks like you have to have an Ignition Analyzer to adjust it.
I moved the free play out of it towards the roller with about a 1 mm away from the roller and tightened it.
How crucial is this if I run the boat tomorrow????
Or do I need to get the Analyzer, I certainly don't want to cause any damage?

If you're talking about the screw that you can set your idle and wot timing with, look up the specs, put the boat in the water and use a timing light. You can get by without the analyzer.

It's the screw that has the spark cam roller on the end of it.
It does not seam to do anything at idle.

If it's the screw we're now both talking about, you should be okay as long as the rest of the sink & link is set up properly.
