Re: Spark Plug Problem 2005 200hp DI

Where would I find the kill circuit? Also My batteries are a little drained from trying to start it for the past few days. But there is still enough juice to start the engine. To be on the safe side I will go ahead and charge them tonight.

It will be the only black/yellow wire. Disconnect it and check for spark again. And dont overlook the kill lanyard, ensure that it is properly functioning.

Is the black/yellow wire connected to the ignition switch? If so I pulled it and the engine wont turn over. The system check comes on but that is it.

Re: Spark Plug Problem 2005 200hp DI

I finally figured it out. After testing everything that has to do with the ignition system it turned out to be a bad starter solenoid. Which is weird because I just replaced it a few months ago. Turns out the old one was still working so I made the fix without having to pay for anything extra!:D

Thanks a bunch guys for all of the help

Interesting, strange symptoms for s solenoid, but good job on the cheap fix, that is the main thing. Now go boating!

I found out on the newer engines there is 2 other connections on the solenoid 4 in total. One of them goes to the SAC (start assist circuit) in the EMM and that was where the problem was the SAC wasnt getting any electricity.
