Re: Spark Plugs

The plugs that were in it are NGK BUHXU-1 are they the same as the Champion QL78YC?

Re: Spark Plugs

Fristly no spark plug manufacture that I know of will recommend using a cross over chart, they always state in their catalogs use the recommendation index, that being said a L78YC cross to NGK BPR7HS in my book. Not the same plug

Re: Spark Plugs

Got the Seloc manual today and it said the NGK BP8H-N-10 was the correct plug as well as the champion

I'd listen to Laddies, he knows what he his talking about. The NGK replaced the champion for my motor.

Re: Spark Plugs

Check your owners manual, it will tell you the plug number to use. Which, was probably what you took out. You want to be careful using a hotter plug on a 2 stroke engine as they are not nearly as forgiving as a 4 stroker. You get a hot plug and a lean carb and you will hole a piston.

Bill -- check the port side of your engine. There should be a label on the exhaust cover that tells you the plug number.

Re: Spark Plugs

I have a 96, 115. Calls for a NGK BP8H-N-10. The Champion cross referance is the QL78YC champion. I've run both. No noticible difference. There is also a splitfire and a couple others which cross ref, but haven't personally ran them.
