speed is this correct

Hello I have a 1981 astroglass 15 foot 1995 50 hp question is at wot the motor is in correct rpm range. the speedometer reads49 to 50mph there is an lowrance X85 with paddlewheel it reads 50.5 almost always at wot.is this correct. feels like im moving pretty good,is a little boat,just seems like others with same hp motors dont seem to get that kinda speed.thanks for any thoughts.

You are probably not getting even close to 50mph. Pitot and paddlewheel speedos are very unreliable over about 30.

If you want an accurate reading, get or borrow a GPS.

Thanks for the reply.The spedo is a brand new teleflex is there a way to hook it up different then pitot tube? I would like to use it and it be accurate. the paddle wheel is new also.I thought 50 sounded to fast. but felt like I was moving pretty good. And both readings are so close to each other but wasnt sure. Thanks for your time
