Hi. I've never posted before so I apologize if this has been covered previously. I bought a 24' pontoon with a 40 hp Yamaha outboard about two years ago. the boat had been re-stored by the previous owner. Everything's in good shape except the guages were never hooked back up. I checked and there are no wires to the fuel tank so that explains why the fuel guage doesn't work. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the fuel sending unit? Regarding the speedometer, does it require any electrical connections with the exception of lighting? Also, there's a small box shaped device connected to the rear of one of the pontoons slightly under the waterline. Could this be the pitot? It doesn't resemble the pitots I've seen on other boats. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Speedometer and Fuel Guage Question

The fuel gauge needs 3 connections,Ignition12v,sender and ground.
The square box may be from an old fishfinder. The speedo only needs the tube hooked to the gauge unless you want the light hooked up..

Welcome to Iboats!!
