We also have to bear in mind the different versions of "English" from different countries.
England English differs quite a lot in spelling than U.S. English which has a lot of variances from Canadian English. Don't know about Australian English though but I am sure there are some more differences again.
Couple of examples.
Winterise (England)
Winterize (USA)
Tyre (England)
Tire (USA)
and the list goes on.
I don't think the main problem is different versions of english either.I agree, there are some pretty painful threads around here to read, a few folks have some challenges and its not color<->colour problems.
