Split window bow Rider to CC! Any body here done it?

Hey all, as some of you know I have a 18' Aluminum Sea Nymph that currently is a split window bow rider. While surfing thru Ebay one day I saw this same boat that someone had done a center console retrofit on and it really grabbed my attention. The room that was gained is incredible and because I run the river and the bay mostly I like the visibility that you gain.

I am looking for guys who have made this transition. Wiring and the actual building of the console is not my concern....Steering is what I am concerned about. How to run the Teleflex or do I have to go Hydralic? If anybody has info or pictures of your project I would love to hear any victories or flops that I need to expect. I have had the floor up in this boat once and there is a very good foundation laid already for a really good mount so that is one thing that I have in my favor......Do you run the teleflex straight down thru the floor and up and out one side? You went from a center console back to a side LOL? What a project nice job! I have torn down a redone about 4 boats now, it is truely a love of mine and like you I am never satisfied with the result ....that is why this time I am going to really do my reseach and do it the way I want the first time! (or not LOL I have redone boats a few times and may do It on this one as well....but hey thats the alure right!) Jason thanks for the project it looks great!

Sorry...no help on your original question...but..to get your link working...try this...

Click the Hyperlink button and paste your URL... it will give you this:

Ok..that worked...it just didn't like you trying to link to Slideshow on shareaproject...why ? I haven't a clue.

I wish I could find more time to get the Glastron done. I will be updating my progress shortly...but, visually, it doesn't look like much has happened. I am waiting on some supplies to finish the glassing..so I flipped the hull over and am sanding the blue antifouling bottom paint off right now. It is taking me forever since I don't want to sand into the gelcoat. There are a few thin spots on the bottom and I will eventually need to paint or re-gelcoat it...but I think I will be able to get away with a keelguard for now.

What is the other boat in the background?

Nice...I have an Infant daughter so my Sea Nymph project is all I can handle right now, BUT the next is going to be a 50's-60's 14 to 16 footer with a period correct motor on it.....They are such head turners

That is a sweet rig. For a long time I was looking for that sort of deal, then I sort of backed away from the quest this year. Now my interest in having an aluminum rig has been rekindled. Just out of curiosity, what kind of loot did you have to part with to score that rig?

LOL $150.00 I didn't want to say much about it but I stole this boat......that is why I do not mind dropping some jing into it. I have really been rethinking the whole center console deal, just a thought I am thinking about removeing passenger side console and entire windshield, and just putting a small windshild for me on the drivers side. I know when I do this it is going to make areal aquard space but roomy. And in the grand scheme of things that is what I want to accomplish. I saw this same boat on ebay and it sold for 5300 so I don't know much but I do know this is a good deal LOL I am taking some more picture of the progress I hope to get them up Fri.

I love fiberglass boats I really do...but I run a river that rises and falls with the season and there is times where we are scooting into 8 inchs of water looking for the big fish and duck Hunting. I think I would drive myself nuts with glass repair LOL !
