Thanks in advance for helping. I bought my first boat an ultranautics jetstar with a sportjet 90 hp engine. I rebuilt the motor and finally got it into the water today only to discover that it wouldn't go faster than trolling speed with cavitation, however it did get up to speed once but started cavitating again when I slowed down and applied the throttle again. I got the boat back home and with some research discovered that there should be a ride plate under the boat and mine is gone. My question is can I make a homemade ride plate, what are the dimensions and what can i make it out of, I would also need to make some sort of gasket. After the motor rebuild i'm tapped out on funds and wanted to see if i could make this part or if anyone knows of where i can get one on the cheap. Thanks again.2013-05-15_10-24-20_152.jpg2013-05-15_10-23-17_292.jpg2013-05-15_10-24-10_682.jpg

I would imagine that something out there might fit. Get a good pic of the underside of the pump and hull. There should be a recess and bolt holes where the plate would mount up, something like this. This is a picture of a Polaris three seater watercraft, but the concept is the same...
