sputtering / knocking when coming back off WOT

I am having exactly this same issue as this guy in the you tube video. Not sure what's causing it or how to fix it.

Is this normal? If not - I'm open to any ideas / suggestions.

Clean the fuel recirculating system for a trial start.

the whole fuel recirc system is new. newly built carb, new gas tank, new bulb, new fuel pump diaphragm, etc.

How about the hoses and fittings that "recirc" the unburned fuel back to the motor? The smoking seems more than acceptable

hoses and fittings all new too. also, this isnt my motor in the video. this video just happens to show the exact same thing my motor does, and the guy on youtube never had any updates.

That is normal and should not happen under load and with the control cables. These engines should not be "revved" in the driveway in neutral and will almost always back down like that.

if i put mine into neutral and increase the idle speed, and put it back down, it still sputters back down like that with the cables attached. if it is normal, then i won't really worry about it.
