Tach was bad. Got a test tach from dealer plugged in worked perfectly.
A few questions and thoughts 97 90hp non-injected Johnson
Did disconnecting my - battery cable while the motor was running ruin my
tach ? Checked my rectifier on rx1000 scale and read 8000 ohms one way and
reverse leads read infinite.. This was on all leads that we're suppost to be checked. Is that a good reading or should it read lower than 8000
Did the Joe Reeves tach test, and this method showed the tach being bad before I used the test tach. But it wasn't on a water cooled rectifier.
