Hello Everyone;
Just wondering, anyone have any Ideas how to keep a SS prop clean on a Mercruiser Bravo II drive ? The boat is sliped in salt water for seven months. I have tried wax= no good.How about paint ?
Thanks

Re: SS Prop

I guess it's a prop question so it was moved to props.
I have heard of people putting a heavy duty trash bag over the leg.
I believe there are devices to put over the prop as well.

If you are talking barnacle growth, not much stops the little buggers. Not even a coating of vaseline. I would never recommend a trash bag. If you forget it, you have just overheated the motor, and the bag will have already been compromised by wave action and the barnacles will be under the bag anyway.

The best way to keep the prop clean is to use the boat often. Second best way is to take a wire brush to it before each use. Brush off the barnacles, and that will slow them down.
