There are different ways of installing bow rails. One is to hire a contractor to weld the set together and the other is to purchase the parts and assemble yourself. Major marine stores carry or can get the parts such as the stantion base, pipe, t's and even a bow bend. Usually assembled with set screws. I have seen these on boats and they seem secure.
