Sounds like I need to start keeping an eye on craigslist again. That was a sweet deal on that trailer.

Not to be a nay sayer but you may want to make sure the VIN is intact !! .. ( also check inside the tube within about 6 inches of the hitch ) I have 2nd hand experience seeing a customer buy a trailer from somone off CL that was stolen.. and that is EXTREMELY cheap for an IBEAM trailer.. that's $800-$1200 easy up here any day of the week.

I'm envious of the bottom paint to.. very very nice, Hope your floor lasts, when you do it again in 4 years use CPES. :) ( just my humble opinion)

From all I've heard and read about wood in a marine environment, you couldn't have done a better job than what you did, in preserving your deck

Keep the epoxy resin handy to coat any holes you drill.

Your boat's looking great

Unfortunately I gotta agree with Kainon on this one. Bob, it was said above that poly resin was used. It is my understanding that poly resin really needs glass with it to have any real strength. Epoxy, however, has a much stronger bond with the wood and can be used by itself.

Kainon
no issues with what you have said at all.
i did ask for opionons so have at it.

the trailer is good to go it is a 2002 with all the correct paper work from the original owner.
now the story behind the trailer
this trailer was posted on craigslist as a alum. boat/utility trailer, when you saw the pictures he had the bunks and brackets off the trailer and stored in the garage, he bought this new and turned it into a utility trailer with plywood and 2x4's and a bolted system to use as a quad trailer.
when i first saw the picture posted i was leary of what a hack job he might have done to the trailer drilling holes and all.
but i took the time to go look at it and low and behold he used u-bolts no holes drilled in the i-beams, he did a great job to do what he needed it for .
i looked at it and said sold, no one else would look at it seeing what he had done to it, plus the added bonus was he never mentioned it had hydrilic brakes.
so i took it to my buddys garage cut the u-bolts off and wood and shes back to being a boat trailer :).

now the flooring, yea i know what you are saying, i had tons of opionins on this and after reading on here and other sites and talking with the old timers down the shore, i came to the poly resin heavy coated and painting it.
it will be covered when not in use but it also it really wasnt that hard to do, and not that much money either.

thank you
dave
