Success! First off ,thanks to all that helped me. Now the story to possibly help someone else down the road. Used a DVM to check voltage at starter and starter relay and relay coil. Voltage was dropping out almost instantly, but not every time. Since the key switch sent voltage to the starter relay coil I pulled the switch out enough to check it's terminals. Saw the same voltage drop. Jumpered switch power to the switch wire going to relay coil. Started right up! Took off jumper and had same voltage drop issue. Will get new key switch. Part of the trouble identifying the culprit was the fact that it would work every once in a while. Hope this helps someone!
