I am just about ready to fire off my new long block outside the boat to test it. I was going to build a cradle, but for the few minutes I am going to run it, and the fact that it is on a 4 ton engine crane with 4 ton chain, makes me wonder why go through the effort of building the cradle for one shot?

Only thing I can imagine is the torque will want to make it do a flip.

Thoughts (I am I am putting my flame retardant suit on)?

I set the front mounts on some wood blocks with the back feet of the transom shield on a 2x4 just enough to keep the oil pan from touching the floor. Front mount block just high enough to have the engine level or slightly front up.
