Hello all I am a newbie with a lot questions to come....

I recently found a "project" in field and wanted to know what if and how to go about restoration. According to the Texas parks and Wildlife Number it is a 1968 18' Caravelle Outboard fiberglass. Other than that I have no clue about anything else. The Hull is in excellent shape but that is about it. The owner said it needed new stringers, floatation, deck/flooring, electronics, drivleine and motor. He is giving me the boat but if I want the trailer it is on he wants to charge me 350. this thing has been buried up to the axles in west texas dirt for who only knows how long. I understand it is going to take alot of time money and talent to do but should I?

Hey levelgrape,
I'd jump on it ONLY if he/she (owner) has the title(s) to the boat/motor and registration papers for the trailer. Otherwise you might wind up with a rig that will cost another $350 to register...thanks to the tax nazis at TPWD nowadays. If the owner has the papers, jump on it. I'm in Lubbock.
