What steps should be taken when starting an outboard that has been sitting for a couple of years? It is a 1967 Johnson 6hp. The thing hasn?t been used very much over the years. I?ve checked the compression-(100psi each cylinder) and the oil in the lower unit. I didn?t want to try and start it until I find out if there is anything else I need to do.
