Starting Problems

I have a 1977 6cyclinder 115hp Mercury Outboard engine that won't start. I replaced many of things on it( spark wires and distribator and cap and just replaced the spark control box) and nothing. I did everything the manual said and nothing. All that happens is the engine keeps on cranking......thats it...........Seems like im not getting any spark.<br />Is there any way I can check my distribator ?<br />Thank You,<br /> Terry

Check to see if you're getting a spark...stick a philips screwdriver into one of the spark plug boots, and hold it about 1/4" from the block. Have someone else turn over the engine and see if you see a spark.

I already done that and im getting no spark at that point.
