You guys are Waaayyy out on Left Base here........
They are demanding access to all BATF files. Why? So as to verify the agency is not violating provisions of Wyoming law that prohibits the registration of firearms or the keeping of a registry of firearm owners. See, that would be wrong. The sheriffs are also demanding that federal agencies immediately cease the seizure of private property and the impoundment of private bank accounts without regard to due process in state courts.
THIS is the Constitutional Law I'm talking about................

The Sheriff's lawsuit is about Him enforcing Local, State, And Federal Statutes......
When the Feds turn a Blind Eye to their Own Laws........

Not in this county. Since they are elected by the voters, they are only answerable to the voters - at election time. They reign supreme. Recently county commission and the sheriff did battle in court over power. Sheriff won.

I don't see where that came into effect in Waco or for Randy Weaver in Idaho.

good point Ray.

would that have changed any if the locals were in charge I don't know, but your right it could not have been handled any worse.
I dont know about Idaho, but in Waco, it would have been bloodless. The locals testified that Koresh came into town for a beer regularly. They tried to get the Feds to take him at the bar, but the Feds wanted headlines.

I for one am happy to see local officials attempt to regain some of the power that is rightfully theirs. Washington is a not the answer to anything. Local people are more aware of local issues and can handle them better.

Twidgets right, I was around during that time. I went to Elk, which is a real small community right next to the Davidians, almost every sat night to the dance hall. I knew alot of the people that were there. They were different, but they weren't the crazies that the gov said they were.

Maybe I've watched to many Andy Griffith reruns! All I know is when I was young growing up we had respect and fear for our local sheriff but on the other hand he had logic and a certain amount of compassion in enforcing the law.

Must give us pause...... The heyday of the liberal occured during a 30 year period predominately presided over by Republicans.
biddle, biddle biddle biddle biddle biddle....
