Static Interference

Since the beginning of the electronic age, technicians have done their best to eliminate static from audio signals. Now I want to put a new twist on things and put static back into certain audio systems.

The system that I want to put the static in is the idiots stereos that have no respect of others. Yeah,,,you know the ones,,,,,,the ones that thump you out of your recliner as they go up/down the road.

I was thinking that a high voltage transformer for an old neon sign might work if it was configured to make a constant arc.

I know if they are tuned to a radio station the interfereince would work, but would it work if they are playing something else like a CD or ipod?

Anybody have any ideas that does not need a physical altercation with these bozos? Thanks.............SS

Re: Static Interference

I hear you. If they were using a small FM transmitter to listen through their radio it might work, but it would have to be an awful strong signal and they would have to be very close to you I would think. FM radios are pretty good a noise rejection due the modulation method. One idea I had but never followed through on was to get an FM transmitter that I could sweep over the entire FM band. If you could insert a tone, say 1000 cycles, and just step across the FM band at 15 or 20 sweeps a minute you could interrupt their music over and over again and make them move on. You would still need to be very close to overcome their signal. Of course this is entirely illegal but it is a nice thought anyway.

Re: Static Interference

The kind of interference I'm thinking about is a 12 gauge deer slug. The electronic stuff is too transitory.

It's not that hard to do...just very illegal!

Re: Static Interference

A Barrett model 99 will accomplish "static" in those subwoofers at a comfortable distance!

I don't think you will have much luck if they are using a cd player or ipod. although you could disrupt the electrical system in the car, of course it would be hard to do that selectively unless you have one of those things the cops have that they shoot at the car and it sticks to the body and shorts out the electrics somehow... anyway i will be watching this one just in case something does pop up.....

A small nuclear explosion would accomplish what you are trying to do.

the little black box (you know one of those CB things) I have in the shed would get them, and everything else within a mile or so:rolleyes: toll gates, radar guns, computors :rolleyes::rolleyes: but I promised it would never be hooked up again!

The problem is, it will interfere with your car too. It might cause your on board computer to fry. You would need to mount it in an old car.

I remember that the old style spark plug wires (solid wire) can really mess up a radio.

Re: Static Interference

In reality, I need to figure away to get these guys that do this. It might take a bit of time and planning, but I'm thinking maybe video tape with the noise invading my home. Its bad, real bad, with all the windows and doors shut, it as if they are sitting right beside my house. The road is about 100' away but still drowns out sounds within my home.

Once the video is shot and a pic is taken of their plates, maybe the LEOs can do something since I would have gotten evidence. Do you think this would be the legal way of getting these soon to be deaf kids?

Re: Static Interference

Last night I took the video camera outside. Whenever the buttmunch's would pass by, I took their video and license number. I made it evident that I was shooting them. 3 out of the 4 now pass without being able to hear anything but the sound of their tires.......Didn't know it could be so easy.

I think I may need to be prepared to clean eggs of stuff in the near future. Hopefully NOT! My security cameras will catch them if they come onto my drive. :D

Loud air horns tend to distract cell phone users from their conversation. Gets their attention,,,, but only for a short time then it is usually followed by a one finger jesture.

Yea but it would be way more fun to see the cell phone user cussing it out and throwing aside.
With no clue as to why the call was dropped.
