I Have a 1986 force 125 hp. outboard I would like to know how to remove the flywheel with the tools of a backyard mechanic..i have all the tools needed just laking the know how.any help greatly appreciated. thanks BVC.
OK. The suggested puller is a must. As the flywheel most certainly won't come of by hand, trying to rmove it without a puller ain't smart.

The puller uses the crank end to push against while pulling the flywheel. So remove the big nut & washers and attach the puller. Make a mark of the exact fit (crank and flywheel). Turn the puller bolt to pull the flywheel off. This can be a matter of applying a lot of power so use good tools.

See Merc's version here
