Need help. I suspect many have converted a 370 from stator to alternator. I was thinking I just had to follow the wires from the voltage regulator and just remove them and replace with the wires from the alternator. My problem is I see there is a wire that goes to a part on the starter motor, it?s not the solenoid. This part is connected to the starter. I can take pictures if need be.

Re: stator to alternator

post some pics, we`ll try and figure it out. the orange wire at the regulator is what you were supposed to connect to .That goes back to the battery

OK back at home now. There is a wire that goes from the solenoid to the starter (as it should). There is a part on top of the starter that has a wire coming from the voltage regulator. Have a look, please and thanks.PART.jpg

Re: stator to alternator

that plastic block is either a 90 or 110 amp fuse. everything looks normal there. the orange wire goes to the output post on the alt.

but it is connected to the voltage regulator. I traced the wire back to the regulator.
