This is a topic that might get something started. In the marine I work in there is confusion. We like to have this discution every time we find a bad switchbox wether it be on Johnson Evinrude or Mercury. If the swicthbox is bad do you have to change the stator also? Now be reashured that I am not asking if the stator is bad do you change the switchbox.<br /> We have experienced mechanics from other marines and marinas telling opposite stories on this. Some will say if you have a bad switchbox change stator. Others say if you have spark after changing switchbox leave stator on.<br /><br /> So what is the story if you have a bad switchbox?<br /> Replace stator or not?
