steering arm rusted

Does anyone out there know where to get a steering arm for a 115 hp 1998 johnson? And does anyone know the best way to replace it?

You'll have to order it from an OMC/BRP dealer. It comes as part of the steering tube, which means powerhead and gearcase removal and intermediate housing disassembly. The engine seems too recent to have a ruined steering arm. Is the rust just cosmetic?

They do rust quickly in salt water. Is it rusted to the point where it might be a danger? That is a pretty tough part and can get pretty rusty before it is a problem. Of course, if it presenting a danger by all means replace it. It's not an easy job, especially if it was used in salt water.
