Question, I have to replace my steering cable on my 19ft angler CC boat, I was told that I should also replace the steering box that the teleflex cable goes into it is a one cable rotary steering, Is it necessary to change both? also i wanted to tie a rope to the end of the cable so that I can feed the new cable back into the same hole, Which end would be better to pull it out from, the back of the boat by the engine or from underneath the center console? Thanks for any replys!

Re: steering cable

You can change just the cable but make sure you get the right one and tie the rope to the end that goes into the steering box,I think the other way will pull the cable out.
You will probly have to feed it through the steering mechanism a couple times to get it to work out right with the steering center so it isn't cockeyed but nothing to hard.
And be certain it locks in like it should, missed mine and all of a sudden the boat will turn one way but not the other, easy fix but a little unnerving.
