steering cable

I have an old arrowglass, it's a '73. It has an Evinrude Triumph 65 hp. the old steering cable is toast, but it was too long anyway (it came that way). The only number on the cable is "t 12 t". I measured for the right cable length and I get 8 foot, but no idea what brand to get...Any ideas?

Teleflex, and while your at it I would replace the helm as well. Also make sure your not shorting the length, allow room for big sweeping bends.

The base model rotary or rack system from Teleflex or uflex will be fine. 8' sounds a little short. Definitely double check your measurements before ordering http://www.iboats.com/basics/measure_steering_cables.html
