I have a 1978 Starcraft SUS 16 Super Sport. The wood dash panels rotted out and I made up new ones out of 3/4" plywood. I removed the Morse rack and pinion steering but foolishly did not take photos of the old setup. I can't seem to figure out how it should go back together. I used the old dash as a template, cut out the large hole for the steering head and three holes for the bolts. Any help would be appreciated.

Take a couple pictures of what you have and we can help. I send my pics to photobucket then post the link here. I think the helm drops in through the hole from the front and then the rack bolts to the back after it is bolted in, but I'm not exactly sure. Pics would help us to know what you have and how it works.

Upper left plate slides over the cable side of the spindle, 2 holes at the top 1 on the bottom. Engage teeth so the spindle / cable attachment is facing upwards.

Upper center bezel goes on face of dash, thick portion is down. Insert bolts and draw it together, add square washers and nuts and tighten.

Wheel spacer slips over shaft witht he drain slot on the bottom.

Metal ring on left goes over middle plastic ring. That was the problem for me. See picture. Thanks for your suggestions.

Looks great. I was guessing on the front or the back side.

Closer look at the metal ring shows it has 2 pins to hold the column cover on.
