I did the same thing years ago on my cable steering drum, had to really concentrate to maneuver the docks, anyhow I had to rewind the drum counterclockwise.
I did that to when installing a new dash. I wasn't going to ruin a day fishing though, so toughed it out, funny how quickly you get used to something like that. Hehe...flip the rack...good as new.
Thanks guys..... I figured thats what it was... I was like how come every boat I see has it going into the right side of the motor... There is something wrong LOL I figured it would need flipping but I decided to ask before I killed it LOL
I went out with it anyway, I was like I can handle this LOL Just like backing up HAHAHA

Its going into the tilt tube like every other motor I have seen Right side if your standiong behind it. So it's got to be the rack. I just haven't flipped it yet.
(Don't see it very often, but it can happen!)
