Currently there is some resistance when trying to move the motor with the steering cable. I disconnected the steering cable from the motor and the motor moves freely. That being said, the problem is more than likely in the cable or the tube, but I cannot get the cable out far enough to clean the tube or the steering cable. I was thinking about spraying it down with some PB blaster, let it soak and hopefully it will eliminate the resistance. Does anyone have any ideas on how to clean these items without removing the motor? Thanks and Merry Christmas

Just replace the whole cable assembly. Once they start to get sticky, it's mainly downhill from there with not much chance to fix.

sorry there is no way, i used a cherry picker, and just raise the motor enough to get the cable out. it could be the dirty tilt tube, or the cable going bad. this is a brush, you put into a drills to clean the interior of the tilt tube.

if you can get any movement, then, get a vice grip piers, disconnect the steering where the bolt goes thru the cable on the portside, look about an inch inward from the polthole and find the knurled up piece on the cable, lock the pliers onto that, reason to put pliers there is ,it wont hurt anything, try rotating the cable with pliers,it may loosen up,just go about 90 degrees, rotat and pull while someone turns the wheel, you need to be careful not to strip the helm,it dont take much to strip it,if you get the cable out,use degreaser and go in and out as much as possible wiping the cable each time it comes out, then use a good penetrating fluid doing same thing, the make a special nut with a grease fitting it slides over the cable end and screws onto the motor portside bracket, grese it good ,you may get lucky
