steering to the left

so heres the deal, i've got a 1984 sea ray seville 17ft bowrider with a 120hp mercrusier.
now when up on plane i have to keep the steering wheel to left of center to keep the boat straight.
i've changed the impeller but did not mark the exact spot of the trim tab, i'm wondering if that could be the cause of my issue or should i be looking elsewhere.
if it is the trim tab what way should i turn it to correct the problem.

Must be if you didn't have the problem before and had to remove your trim tab to get your lower unit off which you have to do.

Move the rear of the tab in the direction of the problem. If boat steers left on it's own, move rear of the tab to the left till it corrects the problem.
