stereo problem

hello i just change my radio on my boat because i was having a small problem every time i try to bump the volume the radio turn off then come back on after changing the old radio i found out is not the radio so i try changing the gnd wire that solve part of the problem now i can put the radio up to 37 if i get it to 38 o 40 will go off and then back on what should i do next guys :facepalm:

How powerful is the stereo, and what gauge are the power leads? Is the battery fully charged and are the connections clean and tight?

Sounds like you may have one or more audio outputs / speaker leads that are not seeing enough resistance.

If you disconnect the speakers and turn the radio on will it go to full volume without turning off? if so I'd check for a shorted speaker or speaker wires that are shorted to each other or to ground.

Also, low voltage at the radio's +12v and ACC wires may cause this, assuming your ground is good.

if you have a volt meter put in as close to the stereo as you can on the pos and neg lead then turn up the volume and see if the voltage drops. if the voltage drops below 11volts then either the connections are dirty or the wire is to thin for the distance.

the stereo is just 4X45w jbl marine i don't know what gauge is the wire and the battery's are fully charge

yes if i disconnect the speakers the radio won't turn off the ground wire is brand new i have not replace the +12v wire ,i am thinking on changing the wire and use it coming from the battery with a switch ,i will be getting new speaker tomorrow

hey guys thanks for all the help i was able to find the source of the problem i found a bad fuse looks old so i change it and a bad connection at the fuse box
