That motor is going to go swimming soon! I'd bet when you run it and watched it with someone else driving,it would scare ya a bit when you see it flex under load!

almost ready to take the upper part of the hull off tomorrow. just need to drill out a few stripped screws. if i take the top off anything I should know, any weak points in the upper hull that could snap. i was going to attempt to take it off with the windshield still on. should i take the windshield out before i attempt to take off the top part of the hull?

Yeah I guarantee she's got some black wood in her... I'm in the same process... But I'm going to be replacing half the stringers n deck also! Weee

You should brace the bottom of the hull from mid to rear, to be sure the bottom of the boat doesn't settle or flatten out while tearing her apart. Even taking a foot of floor out by the transom, the boat will settle some. I discovered this today lol.

I managed to just lift and move the top of the boat forward 3 feet. Just let it rest on a 2x10 near the rear and the front is resting on the bow. Keep the lower sides of the hull the same distance apart as when the top was on/attached to the hull tho.

Good luck! It's not really as bad as it sounds... Read ten or so resto threads before you get tearing apart. It'll help tones!
